Anastasia is a life long Wilmette resident, piano teacher, business owner, published author, mom, school volunteer, performer, avid lake swimmer, and activist. In recent years she's seen the Wilmette Park Board erode public trust and turn their backs on our community. This past year things came to a head: it's time to act.

The Current Board

Purchased the Beth Hillel property for $5.4M without community input - or any idea what they were going to do with it
Supported the Executive Director despite a $5M lawsuit against him and a mass exodus of senior level managers
Fenced off every square inch of Gillson's beach while ignoring the concerns of Wilmette residents
Allowed a former employee to continue to volunteer with children after he admitted to viewing child erotica on Park District computers

I Promise To

Collaborate and listen to our residents - people with an extraordinary amount of knowledge, business and financial acumen, and life experience
Act as a steward of the lakefront not as a gatekeeper. Advocate for adult swimming from the Sailing Beach to the Dog Beach
Ensure transparency by conducting all business in public recorded meetings. I will prioritize regular town halls to hear the concerns of our residents
Reinstate key committees such as the Lakefront Committee and the Real Estate Committee to ensure proper oversight
